“Fans of each other’s work, in the summer of 1994 we decided to do something together with paintings and poems. We scattered a bunch of stretched canvases on the floor and just started, with no preconceived ideas. We would work on several canvases simultaneously, often obliterating what the other had just done. We didn’t need to talk while we were working and it was easy to know when a painting was finished. We made 12 poem paintings in two sessions.”
